just this morning you were there
glimpsing your curve
I looked for you
in the pre-dawn light
picturesque for all your scars
a slender cloud at one shoulder
drawing the eye to
your lustrous swell
a glow to turn heads
Prompt from Word Light Show for April: a poem a day.
After the poem began forming on the page, a line from a favorite song popped into my head. It tied to the subject so I put it in. Then thinking about the song helped shape my poem and another line was added.
The musical assist was by Concrete Blonde’s “The Darkening of the Light”.
Close friends and family will tell you I often throw out song lyrics as they apply to conversation. My brain is a jukebox (and it contains much Bowie).
